Code of Conduct

1. Purpose

As a club, we are committed to providing a friendly, safe and welcoming environment for all
members, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, ethnicity, or country of origin.

This code of conduct outlines our expectations for member behaviour. We invite all members to help us realise a safe and positive club experience.

2. Scope

We expect all members to abide by this code of conduct at all club related events and activities.

3. Expected Behaviour

Be considerate, respectful, and collaborative.

Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory or harassing behavior and speech.

Be mindful of your surroundings and of your fellow members.

4. Unacceptable Behaviour

For all points, this includes not only the behaviour itself, but also any comments or actions that could be seen to promote or condone any of the listed or implied unacceptable behaviours.

Unacceptable behavior in the view of the club includes, but is not limited to, the following:

Personal
Intimidating, harassing, abusive, discriminatory, derogatory or demeaning conduct. Harassment includes: offensive verbal comments related to gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, disability; inappropriate use of nudity and/or sexual images; deliberate intimidation, stalking or following; harassing photography or recording; sustained disruption of club events and / or activities; inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.

Doping
The taking of banned substances, in or out of competition, without proper medical clearance. All guidelines as to processes, list of banned substances etc. should be taken from NADA. The responsibility for complying with this is entirely with the athlete.

Safety
Actions that may lead to an increased probability of an accident occurring or increased severity of an accident, should it occur. This includes but is not limited to careless or reckless riding, not obeying local road laws, not wearing a helmet, using unsafe equipment and ‘selfies’ during races.

Sportsmanship
Lack of sportsmanship (hard racing should be promoted, but within the rules and spirit of the
competition).

5. Consequences of Unacceptable Behaviour

Unacceptable Behavior by club members will not be tolerated.

Anyone asked to stop Unacceptable Behavior is expected to comply immediately.

If anyone engages in Unacceptable Behavior, the board may take any action they deem appropriate including expulsion from the club without warning or refund along §6 item (4) of the club's statutes.

Athletes who are convicted of doping offences will be liable for any claims against the club
relating to the offence.

6. What to do if you witness or are subject to Unacceptable Behaviour

If you are subject to Unacceptable Behavior, notice that someone else is being subject to Unacceptable Behavior, or have any other concerns, please notify board@viennainternationalcycle.club and / or one of the board members in person as soon as possible.
